Introducing: The Armada

We get things done fast without sacrificing quality.
— Anne, Team Dklutr

An armada is a fleet of ships that is sent out to conquer. In short, it gets the job done.

And that’s precisely what Team Dklutr is. They set sail to unchartered waters, find land, plant their flag, and the rest is history.

Symbolism aside, this episode zeroes in on why it’s important to create a team that’s both creative and efficient, especially when you’re in the digital marketing industry.

Listen to Anne and Carl rave about the diverse range of talent the team has that contributes to innovative problem-solving and streamlined productivity.

TDE Episode 9: Introducing: The Armada

Meet the Armada

Anne: This is the episode I’m especially excited about! And it’s your bright idea, too!

Carl: Yes, because we can’t get to ten episodes without shining the spotlight on the very reason why we’re doing this podcast and why we have a growing business.

Anne: I’m bouncing off my seat - I want to get into this real quick! Today we’re talking about ‘The Armada”.

Carl: Yeah, but what it represents is something extraordinary actually. And I know you and I couldn’t be prouder.

Anne: So the nickname “Armada” is what we call our team. And as the word connotes, when we send our team to a client, it’s sending out a fleet so strong, they’ll “conquer” the project or task and get things done in no time.

I love the “conquering” factor of it all, because most of the projects we have, we really accomplish super fast without sacrificing quality.

Carl: Yeah, talk about efficiency. Even launching this podcast, remember how quickly they got things done?

Anne: After finally getting the courage to do this, and you have been dogging me to do this since early last year , when I finally got the courage to do it, they were so confident and supportive about our launch timetable.

And they more than deserve to be highlighted and appreciated.

And if you’re listening to this episode, we’re actually spilling the beans on our whole operation, so I’m actually thinking twice if this is something I want out there! But then again, we’ll try our best not to get too specific. So shining the spotlight on our team.

Carl: Yes, from Rhon who’s the captain of this ship… I think it’s called “admiral” if it’s a fleet, so similar to an armada.

Anyways, Rhon who’s been in charge of all things operational.

We call every podcast episode production an “operation” because we handle a show mostly from end to end, so there’s a whole lot that goes into it. Like an actual captain, she gets everyone in line.

Anne: You’ll see her barking orders from 8 AM to 12MN. Clients and teammates alike love her because she’s reliable, she knows the ins and outs of everything we’re doing. You simply can’t respect hard work.

Carl: That’s right. This leads us to her talented husband, Vence. The original score you heard at the beginning and end of every episode, that’s his own creation!

Anne: His years of experience have definitely honed his creativity.

Carl: So if you’re looking for your own sonic branding, you know where to find us! Check out our website to know more.

Anne: Vence is also the team lead for special projects like web design, which is one of our strongest offerings and what clients come to us for.

Carl: We’re super excited that that part of our business has scaled tremendously in the past 2 years.

Another line of business that we’re actively growing is tracking analytics and engagement. And that’s where Maine comes in.

Anne: Yup! Now one of the account managers handling client needs, Maine started out as one of our editors, then worked her way up to learn all the skills needed to be what we call a “swiss army knife”. More on that later.

Carl: Maine is my go-to gal when I have questions about social media and YouTube. She always has her nose on things and keeps herself up-to-date with what’s happening in that realm.

Anne: So from one fabulous femme to another. Spotlighting our talented animator, chief editor, and account manager, Kae.

Carl: Go check out our YouTube channel and watch our pinned video, you’ll see Kae’s work. The way she brings to life through animation and video editing all our ideas and our client’s ideas as well, it’s always exciting to witness.

Anne: And Kae’s always cool, calm, and collected. I like having that energy around me since I can get pretty manic sometimes!

So from audio and video editing and animation, next up on our list of account managers is Richard, our debonair graphics and social media manager.

Richard runs our Instagram account and creates our graphics together with Kae.

Carl: We got referred a lot and even locked in clients because of what they saw on our clients’ social media. Richard has managed to create an efficient process for creating captivating visuals which contributed to our system.

Anne: And we’ve generated so much business off of referrals so visuals are huge! It’s allowed us to scale our model even more and set us up for the next five years.

Carl: And speaking of the future, we can’t complete this episode without highlighting our young core.

Anne: Okay, too much emphasis on the young. You’re making me feel old. But I’ll let that slide…

Carl: Just think of it as “aging with wisdom”...

Okay back to our young core. This year, we’ve beefed up our team by adding young talent. Joining us this year are Luigi, Clarry, and Rayden, who are our new breed of Swiss army knives.

You may have noticed we keep on saying “swiss army knives”, and it’s by intention. We’re training ourselves to have different skills as ready tools in our arsenal so we can adapt to the changing digital landscape.

It’s exciting to think about the possibilities, especially with our young talent.

They all have different skill sets. Clarry with content writing and social media management, Luigi with audio editing and creating micro-content, and Rayden with overall content management including web design. The possibilities are endless!

Anne: And let’s not forget to mention Jay who’s our ‘special projects ninja’. I call him that because he’s quick and works stealth. His tag-teaming with Vence made a lot of clients super happy with their output.

And because we're hell-bent on providing quality service, we have someone on our team who has an eagle eye when it comes to quality checking. Nothing gets past Jeane - she always makes sure of it.

Also on our team is Ghie, our HR fairy and social media manager.

Carl: Her role is critical to how we also take care of our team members since we also have part-timers and freelancers working with us to bring value-adding quality service to our clients.

Like what we always say to clients, our main goal is to declutter workflows to increase efficiency and productivity. And with this team by our side, we can surely help clients get from point A to B without breaking the bank or killing themselves trying to do things on their own.
